Cabins and private suites for 500 people available

Manitou serves the finest food in camping in our spacious 10,000 square-foot dining hall. Our chefs, lead by Alex Rust, prepare the meals using the freshest ingredients and a balance of nutritional recipes and kid-friendly creations.

Meals can be served family-style or buffet style, supplemented by two salad bars and an alternate station for vegetarians, picky eaters and those with food restrictions. There are “formal dinners” on theater nights, and cabin barbecues once a week. Milk and cookies are served after evening activities. During “lazy morning” on Sundays, campers can stroll at their leisure to one of three breakfast locations around camp for custom-made omelets, specialty breakfast sandwiches and French toast, or the all-American bacon and eggs served at the waterfront.

Locally Grown
Camp Manitou is proud to work with several local farms, including Emery Farm in Wayne, Maine and Crown of Maine, an organic cooperative organization. They supply Manitou with seasonal produce to incorporate into our salad bar and daily menu.

Manitou maintains its own organic garden
Our on-site conservationists continue our “green” efforts with a camp-wide recycling program, composting, and our own organic garden. The food at Manitou was even covered by the New York Times.

We offer a variety of group and private accommodations to suit the needs of even your most discriminating guests. All cabins and private rooms have indoor toilets and showers, lights, electrical outlets, and sturdy wooden-framed single, bunk style, or king size beds. We provide linens and towels. We can house up to 500 people in the following configurations:

Cabins – 10-20 people per cabin, with 2 or more showers and toilets per cabin
Health Center Rooms – climate controlled individual rooms, sleeping 1-4 people, with access to shared hallway bathrooms. Bathrooms are handicap accessible.
Condos – individual cabins, sleeping 1-2 people.
For those guests that just aren’t up for the cabin experience, we can recommend a number of hotels and B&Bs in the area.

Manitou offers 16 instructional activities in the warm waters of East Lake: swimming, competitive swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, wake-surfing, water-skiing, wakeboarding, sailing, snorkeling, stand up paddle boarding, paddle boating, and fishing. CPR, basic rescue and advanced lifesaving courses are also available.

Certified water safety instructors and life guards are among the waterfront staff.
